Taylor’s First Birthday Portraiture, Part II

I had the privilege of meeting Taylor again at the comfort of my home to photograph her indoors after a fantastic outdoor shoot almost a week prior.  Here are a few photos I took of her.

Happy Birthday, Taylor!!

Taylor’s First Birthday Portraiture, Part I

Hello dear blog readers,

Sorry for my long absence.  I’ve done some professional work in Portland since the last post back in October 2011 but my life has been too hectic for me to make time to post.

I’m now 37 weeks and 3 days pregnant with our second child and cannot wait for this chapter to be over and the next one (as a mother of two) to start.

I do want to post a few photos from my most recent gig I just wrapped up since it would be my last assignment before I go on my maternity leave.  Oh I so wish I could squeeze in more photo shoots between now and delivery but I don’t think it’s right to subject my clients to potentially getting splashed by my water while being photographed. :p

I loved meeting Taylor and her wonderful parents.  Taylor is half-Korean, and in Korean culture, the very first birthday is regarded as the most important one in one’s life.  To celebrate her reaching her first year, her parents booked portraiture sessions, both indoor and outdoor, with me.  What a gorgeous little girl!!  We also thought sneaking in a few loving husband and wife shots would be cool so that’s what we did.  Hope you enjoy!  Here are some of the outdoor photos.  I’ll post the indoor photos of Taylor in the next entry.

Pre-Halloween Party, Kids and Costumes

Hello, everyone.  Halloween is around the corner and the Sun family decided to have a dinner gathering with new friends we made in Portland.  And just for fun, I set up my studio lights to take a few photos of the kids who came to the party.  And I got my fix!:)  Maybe next year, I should hold a professional Halloween shoot like this.

And of course my finger-sucking, wild yet infinitely adorable Belle and my sweet hubby.  Oh how much I love them!:)

Tomorrow we hope to be carving pumpkins for the first time.  Wish us luck!

A Holiday Shoot in Tigard, Oregon

Hello!  It’s been so long since I last posted my entry.  I guess this will be officially my first entry since moving to Portland, Oregon.  I’m getting nicely settled up here but have been too busy to post.  I want to share a sample of photos I took for a beautiful family who found me on Yelp.  They were a family of six with four kids and the significant others for their two older daughters also invited to be part of the session.  How lucky are the girls to have such cool parents!  I truly enjoyed meeting them and had a ton of fun witnessing and documenting their bond.  Here are a few photos I took:

The Last Entry in Los Angeles, a Photoless One

It’s been a long time since I posted here last.  I’ve been extremely busy preparing for Hazel Sun Photography’s move to Portland, Oregon next week!

I know I’ve not had a chance to post blog entry on events/portraiture sessions I did for a few weeks now.  Clients and readers, thanks for your patience and understanding.  Once I settle down, I’ll post some photos.

Most importantly, I just want to thank all of my clients and supporters in Los Angeles, without whom I could not have had so many wonderful photo opportunities.

Los Angeles has been my home for more than two decades.  I’ll miss it and its people dearly and hope to visit often.

I’ll be launching a new website soon so please stay tuned.  If you know someone in Portland, Oregon, referrals would be greatly appreciated.  I look forward to the challenge of building up my business up there.
